  • Trim the tougher end of the asparagus spears.
  • Dry the asparagus between paper towels or kitchen towels

How to trim asparagus

Every spear is different, and some of the stalk parts may be longer or shorter on each piece. So here is how you can trim asparagus so easily.

Hold the asparagus by the tip in one hand and the end of the asparagus spear in the other hand. Gently bend the asparagus spear, and it will snap at exactly the spot where the tougher end meets the tender spear. Toss the tough part out and wrapped the tender with the bacon.

  • Yield: 4 1x
  • Cuisine: american

Ingredients

Scale
  • 18 stalks fresh Asparagus
  • 9 slices uncured bacon

Instructions

  1. Trim the woody ends of the asparagus.
  2. Cut the bacon slices lengthwise to make narrower strips. Wrap each bacon strip tightly around an asparagus stalk.
  3. Place the wrapped asparagus seam side down in the air fryer basket. Air fry to 370 F for 10-15 minutes or until the bacon is cooked to your liking.

Notes

  • You can make as many as you like if you keep the ratio of 2 asparagus stalks for each slice of bacon. You can also make a bandle with one bacon slice.
  • Use thinly sliced bacon. The thinner the bacon pieces are, the faster they’ll cook, getting crispy without overcooking the asparagus.
  • Bring the bacon to room temperature, and the asparagus keep in the fridge before wrapping them.; This will help with making sure they cook correctly without over-cooking or undercooking one of them.
  • Use a toothpick to secure the wrapped bacon if needed.
  • Store leftovers in an airtight container in the fridge for 4-5 days and reheat in the air fryer.
