Ingredients

Scale
  • 1 bacon slice per person
  • 1 sausage per person skinned, rolled into a ball then flattened into a patty. Aldi sells ready-made patties too, frozen, I haven’t tried them with these timings but worth a try for you?
  • 1 hash brown per person these are from Aldi, they come in packs of 10, find them in the freezer section
  • 1 egg per person
  • 1 cheese slice per person I use a mature cheddar block and just slice off as necessary
  • 1 English muffin per person some places call them breakfast muffins or toasting muffins. Here in the UK even Aldi tends to have them
  • ketchup or brown sauce or no sauce, you choose

Instructions

  1. No need to preheat your air fryer. Place the bacon slices, sausage patties and hash browns in the air fryer basket. Spaced out (see photos) or, even better, with the bacon slices over each sausage patty for extra flavour.
1 bacon slice per person, 1 sausage per person, 1 hash brown per person
  2. Tried-and-tested timings for my different air fryers, air fryers are like ovens and can vary

    – Instant Vortex and air fryers that have built-in preheating time before countdown: 8 minutes at 180°C / 355 F. Flip all ingredients with 5 minutes to go.

    – Cosori, Ninja and air fryers that don’t have a built-in preheating time: 10 minutes at 180°C / 355 F. Flip all ingredients with 5 minutes to go.

    – Ninja 9 in 1, 14 in 1, 15 in 1 etc + Instant Pot Duo Crisp and Pro Crisp (ie multicookers with air fryer lid): straight in inner pot, no need to oil or grease, 200ºC / 395F for 10 minutes, flip half way through. Worked really well

  3. Eggs: The eggs can be fried on the hob of course OR you could use my Air Fryer Egg Pots recipe. Basically this means, placing each egg in a ramekin or mini pudding basin alongside the other ingredients in step 1 and air fry them at the same time then remove them 2 minutes early if using a metal basin (unless you want a hard yolk). Or use thick ceramic ramekins so that the heat takes longer to get through. No need to flip or shake the eggs half way.
    1 egg per person
  4. Half way through: Flip the ingredients half way through. No need to shake. The bacon slices will have shrunk and now you probably have space to move them away from the sausage patties so that they can both brown
  5. How to assemble

I like the breakfast muffin slices to be warm / toasted. For this you have a few options: assemble and then add back to air fryer for 1 minute at around 140°C / 285 F; toast the slices in a toaster or add them to the air fryer in the last minute of cooking the ingredients if you remember. Go with what suits you.

    1 English muffin per person
  6. To put it all together, I start with the sauce on the bun then, in this order: cheese, sausage patty, bacon, egg.
ketchup or brown sauce, 1 cheese slice per person
  7. There’s something special about pressing down on the top slice of bread to see the yolk break…

Notes

Use any ingredient combination you want. Prefer to buy the frozen ready-made patties from Aldi? Do it! I haven’t tried them but I’m guessing same timings will work.

Don’t want to add hash browns? Don’t.

You’ll see in the photos below that you don’t have to follow the instructions to the letter, make it yours and enjoy!
