Airfryer Five Guys Cheeseburger

the things you love (like cheeseburgers) even whilst trying to lose weight. And I’m proof of that ‘cause this has factored in my meal plans and I’m 16lbs down in 8 weeks. So I used lean beef mince for this to keep the fat content down. The airfryer element should be a hack in its own right – thanks to @hayleys.world for that bit!

Ingredients

Scale
  • 500 g lean beef mince
  • salt & pepper
  • 2 tsp Worcestershire sauce
  • 1 tsp marmite
  • 6 sesame seed brioche burger buns
  • 12 american cheese slices
  • tomato
  • red onion
  • english mustard 1 tsp per burger
  • ketchup 1 tsp per burger
  • salad leaves

Instructions

  1. Combine 500 g lean beef mince, 2 tsp Worcestershire sauce, 1 tsp marmite, salt & pepper in a bowl and mix well with hands
  2. Weigh the total mixture and divide equally by 6 and roll into a ball shape, refrigerate if using later
  3. Flatten each individual ball between greaseproof paper and flatten very thin using meat hammer (or rolling pin) – the burgers will contract when cooking so flatten as thin as possible
  4. Fry burgers in frying pan until cooked
  5. Assemble burger as seen in video on sesame seed burger bun with tomato, red onion, english mustard, ketchup & cheese slice
  6. Airfry, wrapping in tinfoil, for 5 minutes at 200C
