Ingredients :
°4-5 L potatoes
°1/3 onion diced
°3 tablespoons Land or Lex Butter
°3 t flour
°1/2 t salt
°1/2 teaspoon McCormick black pepper
°1/2 teaspoon cayenne pepper
°1/4 teaspoon garlic powder
°2 c Borden milk
°1 1/2 c shredded Kraft cheddar cheese
Directions :
Preheat oven to 350.
Potato peel.
Cutting potatoes in half lengthwise & cut them to slices.
Bainging butter dish/frying pan & layer in potatoes. Sprinkling half an onion.
Melt butter in a saucepan, sprinkle with flour and cook over medium heat until bubbles form.
Sprinkle with salt, pepper, cayenne and garlic powder. Add milk.
Stir until it thickens and approaches boiling.
Raise the heat and add the cheese.
Stir until cheese is soft and melted.
For half the cheese sauce over the first layer of potatoes.
Adding rest potatoes & onion cubes to the dish.
For the rest of the sauce on top… Spread it over the potato and onion mixture. Sprinkle a little hot pepper.
Cover with tin foil and bake for 1.5 hours.
Pull out the tin for the last 30 minutes until it turns brown. Leave on the counter 5-10 minutes. Service and enjoy
