Ingredients
1.3 – 1.8 kg (3 – 4 pounds) chicken wings
Sauce
1/2 cup soy sauce
1/2 cup chicken broth
1 TBSP garlic chili sauce,
2 TBSP brown sugar
1 x 20 oz (567g) can crushed pineapple in juice
1/4 tsp ground ginger
1 TBSP tomato paste
salt and pepper, to taste
Instructions
Place all the sauce ingredients in a bowl and mix well.
Place the chicken wings into a separate large bowl.
Pour half of the sauce over the wings and toss to coat.
Place the other half of the sauce in a saucepan to use later.
Cover and allow to marinate in the refrigerator for at least 2 hours to overnight.
After marinaded, preheat air fryer to 200˚C (390˚F).
Spray the air fryer basket with nonstick cooking spray.
Place the chicken wings in the air fryer basket with space between them to allow the air to circulate.
Discard the rest of the sauce that was marinading the chicken wings.
Cook the chicken wings for 25 – 30 minutes until done, turning over half way through.
While the wings are cooking, heat the remaining sauce in the saucepan over medium heat.
Bring it to the boild and then reduce heat to low.
Simmer for 20 to 30 minutes.
When chicken wings are done, place in a bowl and pour over sauce. Toss to cover the wings.
Serve with sliced spring onion or chopped chives.
