Air Fryer Accordion Potatoes are a delicious and easy way to enjoy potatoes. These flavorful, crunchy potatoes come together quickly with minimal prep time.
Ingredients
2 Medium potatoes
2 tbsp Melted butter
½ tsp Salt
¼ tsp Black pepper
¼ tsp Garlic powder
¼ tsp Onion powder
¼ tsp Smoked paprika
Instructions
Wash and peel the potatoes. Cut them into 1cm thick slices using a sharp knife.
Take one of the sliced potatoes, put one skewer on each side to prevent you slicing completely through the potato.
Slice horizontally carefully then turn it around and then slice it vertically at an angle (using my instruction picture and video as a guide).
Thread them through carefully with a skewer.
Brush with the melted butter and sprinkle with herbs and spices.
Place in an air fryer basket, making sure they are in one layer. Cook at 360F for 20 minutes until golden brown and crispy.
Serve immediately as a side dish or snack!
Notes
Note: This recipe should be served hot and crispy. Reheating the potatoes in an air fryer or oven is recommended to achieve this texture. To keep them extra crispy, brush them with melted butter or oil before serving.
Recipe Tips & Substitution Ideas
You can replace the butter with olive oil if you want to make this recipe vegan.
You can add other herbs and spices such as oregano, rosemary or thyme for extra flavour.
If you don’t have an air fryer, cook in a preheated oven at 350F/180C for 20 minutes.
I had so many issues whilst recipe testing for this recipe! I just could not get the accordion shape because I sliced the potato too thin. It is important to cut the potato thick enough that you can create the accordion shape without it falling apart.
