Air Fryer Bloomin’ Apples

Air Fryer Bloomin’ Apples are a fun twist on caramel apples. The apple petals are soft and yummy from the caramelized sugar mixture.

Ingredients

Scale
  • 4 medium apples
  • 8 caramel squares
  • ¼ cup butter melted
  • ¼ cup brown sugar
  • 1 teaspoon ground cinnamon
  • 1 teaspoon vanilla

Instructions

  1. In a medium bowl, combine the melted butter, brown sugar, cinnamon and vanilla, set aside.
  2. Place apples on a cutting board. Using a small sharp knife, carefully cut the top of each apple off and then use melon baller to scoop out the center of each apple to remove the core and seeds. Leaving a bit of room at the bottom of each apple, and do not cut all the way through.
  3. Make two round cuts in apple center with a paring knife. Then turn the apple upside down. Cut downward starting about a ¼ inch from the base of the apple to create 6-8 slices of apple. Flip over and it will look like a flower blooming.
  4. Fill the center of the apple with caramel bites. Use a spoon or pastry brush to coat the outside of apples and inside of each separate petal with the mixture of sugar and butter.
  5. Spray air fryer basket with nonstick cooking spray and place apples inside at 350 degrees F for 10-12 minutes. Keep a close watch on apples during cooking time so they turn out softened to your preference. Best when served warm or immediately if possible.
