Air Fryer Cajun Potatoes- just a handful of ingredients and 16 minutes in the air fryer produce the most delicious spicy potatoes. They make a great side for chicken, pork, steak, or fish.
How To Make Air Fryer Cajun Potatoes:
Cut your potatoes into small, bite-sized pieces.
Toss them in a bowl with oil and melted butter plus Cajun seasoning, Italian seasoning, garlic powder, and pepper.
Air fry for 400 degrees for 10 minutes. Shake the basket and air fry another 6 to 8 minutes. So easy!
Ingredients
1.5 pounds small yukon gold or red potatoes
1 tablespoon olive oil
1 tablespoon melted butter
2 1/2 teaspoons Cajun or Creole seasoning
1/2 teaspoon Italian seasoning
1/2 teaspoon garlic powder
1/4 teaspoon black pepper
Instructions
Cut each potato into 6 to 8 pieces. It’s best if the pieces are no bigger than 1/2-inch.
In a large bowl toss together the potatoes, oil, butter, and seasonings.
Place the potatoes in air fryer basket and air fry at 400 degrees for 10 minutes.
Note: You want the potatoes in a single layer. Air fry them in 2 batches if necessary.
Shake the basket and then air fry another 6 to 8 minutes.
Recipe Tips:
Yukon Gold, red potatoes, or russet potatoes can be used. Yukon Gold and red potatoes can be left unpeeled. Russet potatoes should be peeled.
Cut the potatoes into small pieces, about a 1/2-inch dice. That way they cook pretty fast and each potato piece can get coated in a lot of spice mixture relative to the amount of potato for tons of flavor.
I like to use Tony Chachere’s Creole seasoning, but it is very salty and there is a limit to how much you can put on before the potatoes get too salty. If you want your potatoes extra spicy, try adding a little cayenne pepper or serving them with hot sauce.
Air fryer cooking times can vary a great deal. Pierce a potato with a fork before removing them from the air fryer to be sure they are soft.
Do not crowd the air fryer basket or the potatoes will steam and not get very crispy. Cook in 2 batches if you have a small air fryer basket.
I like a combination of olive oil and butter, but you can use all olive oil if you wish.
