The Air Fryer Double Cheeseburger is a game-changer if you love juicy burgers with perfectly melted cheese but want to skip the grill or greasy frying pan. Using the air fryer keeps the patties tender inside, crispy outside, and cooks them evenly in minutes. It’s a quick way to enjoy a diner-style burger right at home—with half the mess.

Ingredients 📝

  • 500g (about 1 lb) ground beef (80/20 blend works best)
  • 4 slices cheddar or American cheese
  • 2 brioche burger buns, lightly toasted
  • 1 tbsp olive oil or cooking spray
  • ½ tsp garlic powder
  • ½ tsp onion powder
  • ½ tsp smoked paprika
  • Salt & black pepper, to taste
  • Toppings of choice: lettuce, tomato, onion, pickles
  • Burger sauce, mayo, ketchup, or mustard

How To Make Air Fryer Double Cheeseburger 👨‍🍳

  1. Prepare Patties – Divide the beef into 4 equal portions, shaping into thin patties. Season with garlic powder, onion powder, paprika, salt, and pepper.
  2. Preheat Air Fryer – Set to 180°C / 360°F and preheat for 3 minutes.
  3. Cook the Burgers – Lightly spray the basket with oil. Place patties inside (don’t overcrowd). Air fry for 8–10 minutes, flipping halfway.
  4. Add Cheese – In the last minute, place a slice of cheese over each patty and let it melt.
  5. Toast Buns – Quickly air fry buns for 1–2 minutes until golden.
  6. Assemble – Layer bun, sauce, patty, cheese, patty, cheese, toppings, then the top bun.

You Must Know ❗

  • Avoid pressing down on the patties—this squeezes out the juices.
  • Use a meat thermometer if unsure: burgers should reach 70°C / 160°F inside.
  • Thin patties give you that classic fast-food style, while thicker ones need extra cooking time.

Topping Variations 🌟

  • BBQ Style – Add BBQ sauce, crispy onions, and bacon.
  • Spicy Kick – Top with jalapeños and sriracha mayo.
  • Classic Diner – Just lettuce, tomato, onion, and pickles.

Make It a Meal 🍟

Serve your double cheeseburger with:

  • Air Fryer French Fries
  • Onion Rings
  • Coleslaw
  • Sweet Potato Fries

Pro Tips 💡

  • Freeze patties for 10 minutes before cooking to keep their shape.
  • Add a slice of cheese between patties for an extra melty layer.
  • Don’t overcrowd—cook in batches for best crispiness.

Recipe FAQs ❓

Q: Can I use turkey or chicken mince instead of beef?
Yes! Just reduce cooking time slightly since poultry is leaner.

Q: How do I stop the patties from sticking?
Lightly spray both the basket and patties with oil.

Q: Can I prep the patties ahead of time?
Absolutely—shape and season them, then refrigerate up to 24 hours before cooking.
