Air Fryer molten lava cakes are done in no time. A super easy sweet dessert that is the combination between a soufflé and a chocolate cake.

What Is A Molten Lava Cake?

This cake is cooked just long enough for the outer layer of the cake to set and to keep a soft preferably runny center.

This is the perfect combination of a souffle and a chocolate cake.

It is great to make the batter ahead and cook the cakes when it is time to serve.

These cakes are great when they are just baked.

Ingredients

1½ tablespoons self rising flour
3½ tablespoons fine sugar
2 Eggs
3½ oz unsalted Butter (100 gram)
3½ oz dark chocolate (100 gram)

Instructions

Grease 4 ramekins or glass jars with unsalted butter. Dust with teaspoon flour. Set aside
Take a glass or metal bowl, and melt dark chocolate and butter until soft and melted
Take the bowl from the heat source. Whisk to combine the chocolate and butter
Take another bowl and add the sugar and eggs, whisk together into a pale and frothy consistency
Add the melted chocolate-butter mixture to the egg-sugar mixture. Then add the flour and stir
Preheat the Air Fryer to 375℉/190℃ for 3 minutes.
Pour the batter into the ramekins. Fill them for ¾ full and bake for 9 minutes
Check the internal temperature to see if it has reached 160ºF. If you do not have a thermometer stick it in a bamboo skewer to see if it is still liquid
Remove the molten lava cakes from the Air Fryer and let them cool for a couple of minutes
Then put a serving plate on top of a ramekin and turn it around. Tape the bottom of the ramekins with a knife or spoon so the cake can release
The center should be dark and gooey

Notes

To melt chocolate you can either do this using a microwave or Au-bain Marie and put the bowl on top of a saucepan with hot water
