3/4 cup sourdough starter
1 cup warm milk
1/2 teaspoon dry yeast I think if you don’t have starter and use the whole package they would be fine.
2-3 cups flour I say this because we all use different flours and some absorb liquid faster than others so just make the dough nice and soft. It should be smooth and not sticky if it is add more flour.
2 large eggs
1 1/2 tablespoon sugar
1 teaspoon salt
1 stick butter cut into cubes
I added warmed milk with my starter, eggs sugar and dry yeast. Mix flour and salt together in separate bowl. Add flour and salt mixture into thirds into wet mixture until fully combined. If you don’t have a stand mixer then use use your hands and knead for a good 10-15 minutes. Cover and let rise 2-3 hours. After it has double in size roll ball of dough and cut into equal size pieces. Roll those pieces into balls and place on baking sheet to rise for 30 minutes in meantime make the topping.
2/3 cup sugar
1 stick butter
1 cup flour
1-2 teaspoon vanilla
To make topping place above ingredients into a bowl and make a paste. Once you find how many dough balls you have then roll that many pieces of paste into a ball. Flatten the ball and gently lay over dough ball pressing gently to push down. I just used a knife to make these lines on top. Bake at 350 for 20 minutes and now the house smells amazing. They are so good they are my daughters favorite.
