Air Fryer Brownies – gooey fudgy brownies cooked to perfection in your air fryer. Follow my easy air fryer brownie recipe and extensive tips for the best brownies EVER!
Did you know you can bake the most delicious brownies in your air fryer? It’s really easy and you will get awesome results. As my husband said “is there ANYTHING the air fryer can’t do?”.
Grocery List
This is a classic brownie recipe that’s slightly adjusted for the air fryer to compensate for using a smaller than average brownie pan.
- Chocolate chips: semi-sweet chocolate chips or dark chocolate chips work best. You can also use a good quality chocolate bar with around 50% cocoa content.
- Butter or margarine.
- Light brown sugar
- Large eggs
- Plain (all-purpose) flour
- Good quality dark cocoa powder (unsweetened)
- Vanilla bean paste or extract
HOW TO MAKE AIR FRYER BROWNIES
Add the chocolate and butter in a mixing bowl and microwave for 30 second bursts until the butter melts. Leave to stand for a couple of minutes then stir so that the chocolate melts completely. Set aside.
Use a balloon whisk to beat the sugar, vanilla and eggs in a separate bowl. Whisk until the sugar is dissolved and the mixture is frothy.
Stir in the melted chocolate mixture. Sift the flour and cocoa powder into the bowl and stir until you have a smooth, glossy, thick batter with no dry pockets of flour.
Spoon the batter into a greased and lined 8 inch pan and level. Please note if your pan is smaller you will need to adjust the baking time.
Preheat the air fryer at 330°F (165°C). Bake the brownies for 25 minutes. Take a look at the brownies – they should have a smooth shiny top and feel set at the edges. A toothpick inserted in the middle should come out with a few moist crumbs (but not wet batter).
Air fryers vary greatly in their wattage so you might need to adjust the cooking time accordingly. If you use a silicone pan you will likely need to add 5-10 minutes to the baking time. If your brownies are not quite baked, cook for a further five minutes. Take the pan out of the air fryer and cool the brownies before slicing.
