GRANDMA’S HOMEMADE BUTTERMILK COOKIES

*DIRECTIONS:

Step 1:

I started by setting the oven to 425 degrees F = 220 degrees C to preheat it.

2nd step :

I whisk together the flour, baking powder, the spoonful of salt and the sugar in a large mixing bowl.

Step 3:

I cut the shortening until it looked like a coarse meal in the mix.

Step 4:

After that I added the milk and stirred the batter until it started to pull away from the rim of the bowl.

Step 5:

I turn out and knead between 15 to 20 times on a floured board.

Step 6:

And, I patted the dough or cut it to 1 inch wide.

Step 7:

Then I used a wide cutter or a juice glass dipped in flour and removed the cookies.

Step 8:

And I repeated until I used all the dough, then I took off the excess flour and put it on an ungreased baking sheet with the cookies.

Step 9:

I baked in the preheated oven for about 15 minutes, once the edges started to tan I removed it from the oven and let it cool for a few minutes.
