Jacket Potato in the Air Fryer

Just the BEST way to cook air fryer baked potatoes – for perfect crispy skins and fluffy middles.

Ingredients

Scale
  • 4 baking potatoes
  • 1 tbsp olive oil
  • 1 tsp salt

Instructions

  1. Give the potatoes a good wash to remove any dirt or soil from the skins, then dry them really well on kitchen paper.
  2. Use the fork to prick the potato skins all over – this bit is important, it’ll stop the potatoes from bursting as they cook!
  3. Add a splash of olive oil to the palm of your hand and rub each potato skin really well with oil so that it’s all coated.
  4. Then sprinkle the skins with salt and rub in.
  5. Place the oiled potatoes into the air fryer basket. Don’t overcrowd the basket and make sure the potatoes are in a single layer.
  6. Then cook at 170C for 30 minutes. Then turn the potatoes over using tongs so you don’t burn your fingers.
  7. And then put the air fryer temperature up to 190C and continue to cook for a further 30 minutes or until the skins are crispy and golden and the potatoes is squishy and soft when you squeeze it. (use oven gloves to check!)
