Air Fryer Veggie Spring Rolls

Fried vegetarian spring rolls and samosas are much loved finger food. Usually you find them as starters with a spicy sauce. Nowadays, rice paper rolls and momos are also in demand, whether you are vegan or non-vegetarian. Served with sweet chilli or sriracha. People are now interested to eat regional cuisines even when they travel abroad. Air fry spring rolls at home to make a healthier version.

I must say homemade spring roll in ninja foodi actually give a good competition to restaurant ones. Have it when watching a game. They are perfect for a movie night too. Snuggle in and have some air fried fries , hashbrowns and popcorn too.

Variations

You can use any meat based lumpia if you are non-vegan. You can have fried vegetarian spring rolls by frying them in a wok or baked vegetarian spring rolls by using an oven.

Air Fryer Veggie Spring Rolls

Veg spring roll is an easy snack for teatime. Learn to make homemade spring rolls in air fryer in easy steps.

Ingredients

Scale
  • 2 tablespoon oil
  • 7–8 spring roll sheets 21×21 cm,thawed for 10 minutes
  • 2 tablespoon cornflour mixed with water ,to seal the edges
  • 1 tablespoon water

For filling

  • 1 tablespoon oil
  • 3 cups cabbage shredded
  • 1 cup carrots shredded
  • salt and pepper as per taste

Instructions

  • Mix cornflour with water to make a smooth paste, keep this aside to seal the edges of the spring rolls.
  • Shred the cabbage and carrots into thin strips.
  • Heat oil in a pan and add cabbage and carrots to it.
  • Add salt and pepper and cook for 3-4 mins.
  • Add a big spoonful of mix to spring roll sheets.
  • Roll the sheets to make a spring roll of desired size.
  • Wrap both the ends (like making an envelope)(refer detailed pictures above the recipe card)
  • Continue to roll till you reach the end of the sheet. Repeat the process to make spring roll for whole mixture.Apply the cornflour water mix at the edges to seal them.(refer detailed pictures above the recipe card)
  • Preheat the air fryer at 180 deg C (355 F) for 5-10 mins. Brush oil on the spring rolls and place the spring rolls in the air fryer basket.
  • Air fry them at 180 C| 355 F for 10 mins,brush oil ,flip and continue to air fry for 8-10 minutes at 180C | 355 F.
  • Serve warm with sweet chilli sauce.

Notes

Allow the sheets to thaw for 10 minutes, take out the the sheets you need and move the rest to the freezer

Note -Recently I got bigger pastry sheets, that were 25cm x 25cm, I divided the sheet in 4 equal pieces and made smaller spring rolls
