In the past, we’ve always fried our pork chops in a pan for a crispy texture. But after trying them air-fried, we don’t know if we’ll ever go back to pan-frying them.
These were hands down the best pork chops I have ever made. For some reason, I’ve just always struggled with pork chops and make sure they’re cooked correctly. I usually play it too safe and they ended up with dry pork chops.
These parmesan pork chops in air fryer, though, were so tender and juicy. I seriously can’t believe how well they turned out!
I love the fact that you can toss together the ingredients in the morning, pop them in the air fryer, and have dinner ready in less than 30 minutes.
How to Make Pork Chops in the Air Fryer
The cooking time you’ll need to cook your pork chops in the air fryer is totally dependent on the type of pork chop you use. Is it bone-in or bone-out and how thick is it?
I used boneless pork chops that were about 3/4″ thick. For me, 380 degrees for 8 minutes (flipping once in the middle) was the perfect amount of time.
If you have thinner pork chops, you’ll have to decrease the time to accommodate.
I set out two small containers or bowls to get started.
In the first container was about 1 tablespoon of olive oil.
In the separate bowl I combined:
- 1/2 cup panko bread crumbs
- 1/2 cup grated parmesan cheese
- 1 teaspoon garlic powder
- 1 teaspoon parsley
- 1 teaspoon salt
Mix that up really well. Then dip one pork chop in olive oil to coat both sides and transfer to the panko mixture and coat both sides. Press down to make sure the crumbs stick.
Press each coated pork chop in your air fryer basket.
I lightly spray each side with a nonstick spray then. This is not necessary at all, but I love the golden brown color it gives the topping.
This air fryer pork recipe was enough for me to make 6 pork chops. Since you need to air fry them in a single layer, I had to do two batches.
Every single person in the family declared these the best pork chops to come out of this house and wants them made this way repeatedly in the future.
They were so juicy and tender inside!
In conclusion, air fryer pork chops are our favorite dish and easy way to prepare a delicious meal for the entire family. They are perfect for a fantastic pork dinner when there’s not enough time to make a full dinner, but still want something delicious. The parmesan pork chops in air fryer recipe are quick and easy to put together, and it will make your mouth water while cooking in your kitchen!
