Craving that Big Mac flavor with a crispy twist? These Air Fryer Big Mac Egg Rolls are a fun, golden-brown mashup of fast food and finger food. Packed with seasoned beef, cheese, pickles, and that famous sauce—all wrapped in a crunchy egg roll wrapper—this is the viral recipe you’ll want to make again and again.

Ingredients

For the Egg Rolls:

  • 1 lb ground beef
  • 1/2 cup diced onions
  • 1/2 teaspoon garlic powder
  • 1/2 teaspoon salt
  • 1/4 teaspoon black pepper
  • 1 cup shredded cheddar or American cheese
  • 1/2 cup chopped dill pickles
  • 10–12 egg roll wrappers
  • Olive oil spray or cooking spray

For the Copycat Big Mac Sauce:

  • 1/2 cup mayonnaise
  • 2 tablespoons French dressing
  • 1 tablespoon sweet pickle relish
  • 1 teaspoon white vinegar
  • 1 teaspoon sugar
  • 1/2 teaspoon onion powder
  • 1/2 teaspoon paprika

How To Make Air Fryer Big Mac Egg Rolls

  1. Cook the Filling:
In a skillet, cook ground beef and diced onions over medium heat until browned. Drain excess grease. Stir in garlic powder, salt, and pepper. Let it cool slightly.
  2. Mix the Sauce:
In a bowl, combine all the Big Mac sauce ingredients. Chill in the fridge while preparing the rolls.
  3. Assemble Egg Rolls:
On a clean surface, lay out one egg roll wrapper. Spoon about 2 tablespoons of beef, a sprinkle of cheese, a few chopped pickles, and a drizzle of Big Mac sauce in the center. Fold and roll tightly, sealing edges with a bit of water.
  4. Air Fry:
Preheat air fryer to 375°F (190°C). Lightly spray the egg rolls with olive oil spray. Place in the air fryer basket in a single layer. Cook for 8–10 minutes, flipping halfway, until golden brown and crisp.
  5. Serve:
Let cool slightly and serve with extra Big Mac sauce for dipping!

You Must Know

  • Egg Roll Wrappers Dry Quickly: Keep unused wrappers under a damp paper towel while assembling.
  • Don’t Overfill: Too much filling can cause breakage or sogginess.
  • Chill Sauce Ahead: The flavor develops as it chills—ideal to prep first.
  • Use Leftovers Wisely: The beef mixture makes great burger bowls, too!

Topping Variations

  • Extra shredded lettuce for crunch
  • Sliced cherry tomatoes
  • A slice of crispy bacon inside the roll
  • Spicy pickles or jalapeños for heat
  • Toasted sesame seeds on top after cooking

Make It a Meal

  • Serve with a Side Salad: A classic wedge salad or iceberg with Thousand Island dressing.
  • French Fries or Air Fryer Tots: Perfect for that fast food vibe.
  • Coleslaw or Pickled Veggies: Adds crunch and balance.
  • Loaded Big Mac Platter: Serve with sauce, pickles, and shredded lettuce for a DIY fast food experience at home.

Pro Tips

  • Preheat Your Air Fryer: This ensures maximum crispiness.
  • Seal Tightly: Use water to moisten the edges and seal the rolls completely.
  • Don’t Crowd the Basket: Cook in batches for even browning.
  • Make-Ahead Friendly: Assemble rolls and refrigerate for up to 1 day before air frying.

Recipe FAQs

Q: Can I bake these instead of air frying?
A: Yes! Bake at 400°F (200°C) for 15–18 minutes, flipping halfway until golden brown.

Q: Can I use store-bought Big Mac sauce?
A: You can, but the homemade version gives the most authentic flavor.

Q: Can I freeze them?
A: Absolutely. Freeze uncooked egg rolls on a tray, then transfer to a bag. Air fry from frozen at 375°F for 12–15 minutes.

Q: What if I don’t have pickles?
A: Substitute with relish or omit for a cheeseburger-only version.

Q: Can I use ground turkey instead of beef?
A: Yes, it’s a great lean alternative and still works well with the sauce and cheese.

Ingredients

For the egg rolls

  • 1 pound ground sirloin I use 91/9
  • 2 teaspoons diced onion
  • 1 teaspoon salt
  • ½ teaspoon black pepper
  • 2 tablespoons yellow mustard
  • 2 tablespoons ketchup
  • 1 teaspoon worcestershire sauce
  • 12 egg roll wrappers
  • 12 slices American cheese
  • ½ cup chopped dill pickles
  • olive oil spray or avocado spray
  • 1 teaspoon sesame seeds

For the Special Dipping Sauce

  • ½ cup mayonnaise
  • 2 tablespoons yellow mustard
  • 1 ½ tablespoon ketchup
  • ½ tablespoon apple cider vinegar
  • ¼ teaspoon paprika

Instructions

  1. To a large skillet over medium-high heat, add the ground beef and onion. Season with salt and pepper, breaking apart as it cooks until fully browned and no longer pink.
1 pound ground sirloin, 1 teaspoon salt, ½ teaspoon black pepper, 2 teaspoons diced onion
  2. Once cooked, turn off the heat and drain any grease, if necessary.
  3. Add in the mustard, ketchup, and worcestershire sauce. Stir to fully combine and set aside to cool for approximately 5 minutes.
2 tablespoons ketchup, 2 tablespoons yellow mustard, 1 teaspoon worcestershire sauce
  4. To a clean flat surface, lay out an egg roll wrapper into a diamond shape and place a small bowl of water nearby.
  5. Lay a slice of cheese in the center. Top with approximately 2 tablespoons of the beef mixture and a sprinkle of the chopped pickles.
12 slices American cheese, 1/2 cup chopped dill pickles
  6. Dip a finger into the water and wet the edge of the wrapper.
  7. Fold the bottom of the diamond up, tuck in both ends, and roll up tightly. Place seam side down on a plate as you assemble the rest of the egg rolls.
  8. Working in batches, place 4-5 egg rolls into the basket of the air fryer. Do not overcrowd. Spray them with avocado oil and cook for 6 minutes at 390° F.
    12 egg roll wrappers
  9. Use tongs to flip, spray again with more avocado oil, sprinkle with sesame seeds and cook for another 4 minutes or until golden.
olive oil spray or avocado spray, 1 teaspoon sesame seeds

To make the sauce

  1. To a small bowl, whisk together the mayo, mustard, ketchup, apple cider vinegar, and paprika.
2 tablespoons yellow mustard, 1/2 cup mayonnaise, 1 ½ tablespoon ketchup, 1/2 tablespoon apple cider vinegar, ¼ teaspoon paprika

Notes

  • Store leftovers covered in the fridge for up to 3 days.
  • I recommend reheating in the air fryer.
  • American or cheddar cheese slices can be used.
  • Dried onion can be used in place of diced onion.
  • I use a 5.8 quart air fryer and fit 5-6 egg rolls per batch.
  • I use a medium cookie scoop to easily portion the ground beef.
  • For variation, add chopped cooked bacon or diced jalapenos to the beef mixture.
