One of our family’s favorite go-to recipes is this Air Fryer Shrimp and Chicken Alfredo! This recipe has just a little something for everyone, it’s pure comfort food that just touches your soul! The Alfredo sauce is low-carb, so you can serve it over zoodles, spaghetti squash, or other low-carb pasta alternatives, if you wish.
This recipe requires a little multi-tasking, but it comes together in about a half hour: You can cook the pasta on the stove top, cook chicken and shrimp together in the air fryer, and make a quick homemade Alfredo sauce from scratch all at the same time! It’s worth it, trust me!
Ingredients
For the chicken and shrimp:
- 1 lb chicken breast (about 2 small/medium breasts), thinly sliced and chopped about the same size as the shrimp
1 lb uncooked shrimp (thawed if frozen, cleaned, de-veined, peeled, tails removed) - 1-2 tablespoons steak seasoning – YES, steak seasoning for chicken and seafood! Or use garlic salt and black pepper
Tip: I sometimes like to make a double batch of air fryer chicken and shrimp and save it for the next day to make a spinach Caesar salad.
For the Alfredo sauce:
- ½ cup unsalted butter
2 cups heavy cream (aka whipped cream or double cream) - 2-3 cloves garlic, minced
- 3 cups freshly grated Parmesan cheese (freshly grated is best, but the packaged stuff will work OK too, if that’s all you have)
- 1 pinch nutmeg
- 1 teaspoon white pepper
- 2 tablespoons fresh parsley or basil
For serving:
- 1 lb uncooked pasta, such as fettucine (or use zucchini noodles)
- salted water (for cooking the pasta)
- broccoli florets (you’ll boil this the last few minutes while cooking the pasta, or cook another veggie however you like)

Ingredients
- 1 lb chicken breast – (about 2 small/medium breasts), thinly sliced and chopped about the same size as the shrimp
- 1 lb uncooked shrimp – thawed if frozen, cleaned, de-veined, peeled, tails removed
- 1–2 tablespoons steak seasoning – to taste, or use garlic salt and black pepper
- ½ cup unsalted butter

Instructions
-
Boil salted water for the pasta in a large pot. Cook pasta according to the package directions. Optional: During the last 2-3 minutes, add the broccoli florets to the pasta water to let them cook. Drain the pasta and broccoli, rinse with cool water, toss with olive oil, and set aside until ready to serve with chicken and shrimp Alfredo.
-
Work on the rest of the recipe while the pasta is cooking.
-
Spray or brush the air fryer basket with olive oil to ensure the chicken and shrimp do not stick.
-
Place chicken and shrimp in an air fryer and sprinkle with steak seasoning.
-
Air fry the chicken and shrimp at 350° for 15-20 minutes or until cooked, stirring every 5 minutes to make sure everything cooks evenly.
-
Make the sauce while the shrimp and chicken are cooking.
-
Melt butter in a medium saucepan. Once the butter has completely melted add in the heavy cream, stir to combine.
-
Once the heavy cream has heated up, add the garlic and 1 cup of Parmesan cheese. Stir the Parmesan cheese in and and add the rest in 1 cup increments.
-
Once the parmesan cheese is all nicely mixed together add the nutmeg, white pepper, and parsley.
-
Serve over cooked pasta, along with the chicken, shrimp, and broccoli.
Notes
- Prep EVERYTHING before you start cooking: chop up the chicken, get the ingredients all measured out, etc.
- Rely on timers! Set timers for when you need to add the broccoli to the boiling pasta, for when to drain the cooked pasta, and for reminders to stir the chicken and shrimp as they’re cooking.
The nutrition facts are estimated not including pasta or broccoli, assuming 8 portions.
