Salty and crispy on the outside, soft and fluffy on the inside- these Air Fryer steakhouse potatoes tick both those boxes.

If you’ve been looking for a quick and delicious side dish to pair with your protein, this recipe is a must-try.  You’ll need just 3 simple pantry staples, and a few minutes of hands-on time to put these vegan baked potatoes together.

Ingredients For the Air Fryer Steakhouse Potatoes Recipe

  • Potatoes: If you’re trying to make a traditional baked potato, Russet potatoes are the best choice. Pick ones that are roughly the same size, to ensure they’re cooked evenly.
  • Oil: Choose avocado oil, coconut oil or refined olive oil. These have a high smoke point and are perfect to use for air frying. I’ve also put together a detailed post about the best oils to use for air frying.
  • Salt: Use kosher salt or sea salt. Toppings: Here’s where you can get creative. Pick from the classics like garlic powder, bacon, cheese, sour cream and chopped chives or think outside the box and experiment with paprika and green onions.

How to Make Air Fryer Steakhouse Potatoes

To make steakhouse potatoes in an Air Fryer, start by preheating the Air Fryer at 400 degrees. Wash your potatoes nicely in cold water and use a vegetable brush to get rid of any traces of dirt on the surface.

Prep potatoes: Once all the potatoes are washed and clean, pat them dry with paper towels and then prick them with a fork.

Season potatoes: Brush each potato with oil and top them with a sprinkle of sea salt or kosher salt.

Air fry: Arrange the potatoes in your Air Fryer basket in a single layer and cook for 25-30 minutes or until they’re golden brown and fork tender.

Top and serve: Use a sharp knife to create a slit in each potato, top with your favorite toppings and serve.

  • Author: Julia
  • Prep Time: 10 minutes
  • Cook Time: 30 minutes
  • Total Time: 40 minutes
  • Yield: 4 1x

Ingredients

Scale
  • 4 Russet potatoes
  • 2 tablespoons oil
  • 2 teaspoons sea salt

Instructions

  1. The first step is to prepare the potatoes. Start by washing them thoroughly with cold water and a vegetable brush.
  2. Remove all dirt and debris, and dry the potato skins with a paper towel. Then, prick each potato several times with a fork. This will help steam escape as they cook in the air fryer and give you a crispy-skinned result.
  3. Next, brush each potato with oil and sprinkle it with salt. This will add flavor and help the potatoes get nice and crispy in the air fryer
  4. Place the potatoes into your air fryer basket, leaving enough room between them for even cooking. Set the fryer temperature to 400°F and cook time for 25 30 minutes. Remove when fork tender and golden brown.
