Air Fryer Toad In The Hole

This comforting and hearty dish is the perfect way to start the day.

Ingredients

Scale
  • 2 tablespoons vegetable oil
  • 4 ounces pork sausages about 4 small sausages
  • cup flour
  • 2 eggs
  • ¾ cup milk
  • teaspoon salt

Instructions

  1. Preheat air fryer to 400°F.
  2. Place an 8″ round baking pan into the air fryer basket. Add oil to the pan and heat in the air fryer for 3 minutes.
  3. Carefully add sausages to the pan and air fry for 4-5 minutes until the sausages are starting to brown, flipping halfway through. They don’t need to be fully cooked.
  4. Meanwhile, whisk together the flour, eggs, milk and salt together in a bowl until batter is smooth.
  5. When sausages are browned, quickly pour the batter over the sausages in the pan, ensuring the oil stays hot. Air fry for 11-13 minutes* until the edges are crispy and the top is golden brown.

Notes

Note: Opening the air fryer basket while the toad in the hole is cooking can deflate it. If you need to check on it be sure to open and close the basket quickly.

*Watch your air fryer closely. The hot oil can splatter on the heating element and create smoke while cooking.

Keep leftovers in the refrigerator for 4 days.
