For a classic taste that stirs memories of your childhood, air fryer bologna is the way to go.
Easy to make and (air)fried in no time at all, bologna in the air fryer is hot, slightly crispy, and ready for a sandwich or breakfast plate!
Recipe Tips
Before you make some bologna in the air fryer, you should read through these recipe tips so that you don’t make any mistakes.
- The cooking times indicated below are for sliced bologna, not ring bologna.
- We would not recommend using very thinly sliced bologna for the air fryer since it might fly around in the basket too much. Instead, try using regular or thick-cut bologna.
- The thickness of the bologna will affect the cooking time. Thicker cut bologna will take slightly longer to get crispy.
- Towards the end of the cooking time, make sure to watch the bologna. The fat/oil from the bologna might give off a bit of white smoke so keep a close eye on your air fryer.
- When you’re done, it’s important to clean your air fryer because air fried bologna can give off quite a bit of fat/oil.

If you want to know how to fry bologna in an air fryer, you can check out this section with the recipe process photos to see just how we did it.
If you just want air-fried bologna as quickly as possible, you can skip down to the recipe card at the bottom of this post for the cooking times and temperatures.
Preheat the air fryer to 375 degrees Fahrenheit.
Once hot, add the bologna slices in one layer. Try to have no overlap or else the bologna will cook unevenly.
Air fry the bologna at 375 degrees Fahrenheit for approximately 6-9 minutes total, flip after 4 minutes.
You might choose to air fry the bologna for slightly longer depending on the thickness of the bologna and your personal preference.
When done frying, remove the bologna from the air fryer. Capture excess oil with a paper towel like you would with bacon.
Your bologna is ready to use for a sandwich or as a meat addition to breakfast!
Storage Tips
Once you air fry bologna, it’s best to eat it hot and fresh. The slices don’t taste as good anymore once they have cooled.
Therefore, we wouldn’t recommend air frying more slices than you need and wouldn’t recommend having leftover slices.
