Learn how to cook perfectly succulent pork steaks in the air fryer. This easy and convenient cooking method transforms an affordable cut of pork into tender juicy steaks the whole family will enjoy.
In this blog I’m sharing my top tips for air frying pork scotch fillet steaks for a quick and nourishing family meal.
With the rising cost of living, and four hungry mouths to feed, I am always on the look out for the cheapest cuts of meat available, and this one checks out at around $16 per kilogram.
Pork scotch fillet steaks come from the shoulder section and their higher fat content (marbling) means they don’t dry out during cooking like pork chops tend to do.
All of this makes them perfect for air frying. Succulent juicy pork for dinner? Yes please!
Ingredients
- pork scotch fillet steaks
- olive oil
- salt
- pepper
See recipe card for quantities.
Instructions
Coat steaks in olive oil, salt and pepper and place them in the air fryer basket. If your air fryer requires preheating, preheat the air fryer first, then set the temperature to 200 degrees Celsius (400 Fahrenheit) and cook the steaks for 10 minutes.
Flip the steaks and cook for a further at 10 minutes.
Check the internal temperature of the steak, and remove once it has reached 63 degrees Celsius (145 Fahrenheit). If not, continue to cook for 2-3 minutes intervals until done to your liking.
Hint: To get an accurate internal temperature, insert the thermometer into the side of the steak at a depth of about 5 cm (2 inches), rather than from the top.
Rest steaks for 3 minutes prior to serving.
