This dampish single-layer vanilla cake includes a delicate texture and delectable crumb, however it is the old style browned-butter glaze that offers it a nutty flavor. 1 1/2 c. sifted cake flour
1 1/2 tsp. baking powder
1/4 tsp. salt
1/2 c. tasteless butter
1 c. sugar
2 large eggs
1/2 tsp. vanilla extract
1/2 c. whole milk

DIRECTIONS

Heat the kitchen appliance to four hundred degrees F. gently coat an 8-inch cake pan with butter and mud with general-purpose flour. Sift the cake flour, leavening, and salt into a large bowl.
