You will fall in love with air fryer garlic crack bread. It is so good that it will be gone in seconds, and you will want to make another!

This crack bread has to be the best air fryer appetiser of all time and perfect for summer barbecues, a girls night in, date night, or just for those garlic bread cravings.

Garlic Bread

Anyone that knows me well, knows that I am obsessed with garlic, and rarely eat bread unless it’s a garlic bread.

Garlic bread takes me back to my favourite restaurant as a kid (not there anymore unfortunately). It was an Italian restaurant and I would always watch them make my dad a garlic bread pizza.

It was so, so yummy and started my garlic bread obsession.

But of course, the flavour remains and trends happen, and I was so in love when an Aussie expat I met introduced me to what she called “crack bread”, an even better way to make garlic bread, plus with the addition of cheese, I mean what is not to love about garlic bread?

  • Author: Julia
  • Prep Time: 15 minutes
  • Cook Time: 14 minutes
  • Total Time: 29 minutes
  • Yield: 2 1x

Ingredients

Scale
  • 1 Cob Loaf
  • 100 g Salted Butter
  • 2 Tsp Frozen Garlic
  • 1 Tsp Dried Parsley
  • 50 g Grated Mozzarella Cheese
  • 50 g Grated Cheddar Cheese

Instructions

  • Slice the cob like you are slicing a loaf of bread but leaving a ¾ inch gap at the bottom.
  • Add the garlic, butter, and parsley into an air fryer safe container, and then air fry for 6 minutes at 120c/250f or until the butter has melted. Then stir and get out your pastry brush.
  • Brush the garlic butter into the slices, been careful not to break the bread slices.
  • Next, slice the other way, to turn these slices into cubes and then brush again.
  • Finish by adding a layer of foil to the air fryer basket, adding the cob and sprinkling the cheese over the top of the cob.
  • Air fry for 6-8 minutes at 160c/320f to melt the cheese and adjust if needed in case your cheese isn’t melty enough before serving.
